There are hundreds of protein bar brands available in the market, and every year or two, more and more businesses are hopping into the company with their products. Barebells is one such product that has been making a lot of buzz since the last year.

Saying this, I want to add that you shouldn’t make protein bars as an alternative to a protein-rich healthy meal. You can use these bars as a snack or a protein-rich replacement for chocolates/candies.

Barebells bars are available in seven flavors. We have ranked five of these Barebells bars by their nutritional profile, ingredients, protein content, taste, and overall product offering. So here comes the list.

1. Barebells Salty Peanut Flavor Protein Bars

The salty peanut flavor is the first pic for this list—a terrific combination of taste, texture, and protein content. The salty peanut-flavored Barbells protein bar is a fantastic go-to snack for 20 grams of protein.

Barebells Salty Peanut Flavor Protein Bars Ingredients & Nutrition Facts

  • Protein Blend of Calcium Caseinate, Whey Protein Isolate, Soy Protein Isolate
  • Cocoa Powder
  • Peanut Paste (Peanuts, Peanut Oil)
  • Natural and Artificial Flavors, Salt, Soy Lecithin, and Artificial Sugar.

The primary source of protein is whey protein isolate. We all know that whey protein is a high-quality protein with a faster absorption rate than other protein sources.

Since it’s a peanut flavor protein bar, you can expect heavy peanuts and thickeners to blend with the other ingredients. Barebells have used artificial sweeteners like sucralose, and acesulfame k for sweetening.

It also contains soy which is coming from soy protein isolate.

The texture is smooth, softer, and crunchy(due to peanuts). The filling of caramel cream gives it an excellent fudgy chewing experience. Its sour, sweet texture makes it a perfect protein bar for those who don’t like to eat too sweet protein bars.

Barebells salty peanut protein bars can work as a great pre-workout and post-workout. A pack of 12 salty peanut flavor Barebells protein bars will cost you around $25.99.

White chocolate flavors have their fanbase. Indeed, a lot of people don’t like regular chocolate flavor. The white chocolate barrels protein bar is a fantastic option for those people.

Some of you might get a feel of artificial marzipan chewing this white chocolate almond protein bar. The caramel outer layer on the top of the white chocolate is well blended together.

Covered in tiny crispy pieces of almond, its core is a soft, pleasant texture and tastes delicious. Not the best one like the salty peanut barebells protein bar, but it’s still one of the best ones out there.

Barebells Protein Bar Ingredients(White Chocolate Almond Flavor)

Calcium caseinate, whey protein isolate, glycerol, maltitol, polydextrose, collagen, cocoa butter, milk powder, almonds, soy protein isolate, cocoa powder, tapioca starch, sunflower oil, natural and artificial flavors, salt, thickeners, cocoa mass, artificial sugar.

3. Barebells Crunchy Fudge Barebells Protein Bars

Barebells Crunchy Fudge Barebells Protein Bars Review
Crunchy Fudge Flavor

A decent tasty protein bar. It has the texture of a fudgy protein bar, but it’s less sugary. It almost tastes like a sweet-salty protein bar. The white sprinkles all over the protein bar play the role of a crunchy factor.

Although the little white sprinkled spots look cute, they have no role in the taste or overall crunchiness of crunchy fudge, and I can’t find any part of putting any sprinkles all over it.

Barebells Crunchy Fudge Protein Bar Ingredients

Milk protein, collagen peptides, humectant (glycerol), sweetener (sucralose, maltitol), polydextrose, cocoa, water, milk powder, sunflower oil, almonds, salt, soy lecithin.

Barebells Crunchy Fudge Protein Bar Nutrition Facts

  • Calorie = 203kcal
  • Protein = 20g
  • Carbs = 18g
  • Fat = 8g
  • Fibre= 3g

Barebells crunchy fudge has 20 grams of protein with only 2 grams of sugar at just 203 calories which is terrific. I wish it had a little more salt; I would rate crunchy fudge as good as salty peanut barebells protein bars.

4. Barebells Hazelnut Nougat Plant-Based Barebells Protein Bars

Hazelnut Nougat Plant-Based Barebells Protein Bars Review
Hazelnut Nougat Plant-Based Barebells Protein Bars

It’s not fair if we don’t discuss plant-based protein bars. There are hundreds of thousands of people who use plant-based protein bars regularly.

Supplements are not essential for anyone. You can get 100g of protein from a vegan diet if you know how to make a balanced one with the right ingredients.

Barebells have two different plant-based protein bars; Hazelnut Nougat and Salty peanut vegan protein bars.

Most plant-based protein bars use pea protein, rice protein, peanut protein, and soy protein instead of whey or other milk-based protein.

However, you should know that plant-based protein bars are not as high as regular ones. Vegan protein bars have more calories, carbs, fat, and low protein than standard protein bars.

Barebells Hazelnut Nougat Ingredients & Nutrition Facts

Soy protein, pea protein, rice protein, vegetable glycerol, polydextrose, maltitol, cocoa butter, oligofructose, unsweetened chocolate, hazelnuts, cocoa, tapioca starch, sunflower oil, natural and artificial flavors, soy lecithin, sucralose.

If you check the packaging, there is a clear warning: Excessive consumption may cause a laxative effect (due to maltitol). [Read More]

Hazelnut protein bars have soy protein isolate and pea protein as the primary protein source. In my previous article, I have clearly explained that soy protein isolate is harmful to men, and men should not use it.

However, If you don’t have any other options and still like to try it with proper diet management and calorie counting. You can have it once a day.

Barebells Hazelnut Nougat Nutrition Facts

  • Calories = 210
  • Protein = 15gm
  • Carbs = 28gms
  • Fat = 9gms

As I have earlier, vegan protein bars are not as calorie efficient as regular protein bars. You can check yourself,

Hazelnut Nougat protein bars have more carbs; fats compare to other Barebells protein bars. Also, the protein quantity is less.

But as per the standard of vegan protein bars, it’s pretty decent. It’s not the best one, but it’s okayish(acceptable).

Hazelnut nougat’s center is filled with soft nougat cream and a milk chocolate coating. The smooth texture of the core is balanced with the Cripsy outer chocolate layer.

The Chocolate coating is creamy, the center is soft, the caramel layer is nice and moist, and the hazelnut pieces add a crunchiness.

5. Barebells Cookies & Cream Barebells Protein Bar

Barebells Cookies & Cream Protein Bar
Cookies & Cream Protein Bar

The softer texture of cookies & cream is cookie dough, but it is denser. It’s not like a regular protein bar, in which you have to chew a lot. I ranked it last because of its taste and overall nutrition.

Barebells Cookies & cream tastes like a quest protein bar with a bit of a softer chewing experience, and it doesn’t match the taste standard of the rest of the Barebells protein bars.

The center is softy, and you don’t have to put a lot of effort to chew. The sweet and creamy chocolate coating and the crispies on the top felt good. The overall texture is spot on.

It’s not bad, and it’s just cookies & cream doesn’t have a lot to offer when it comes to taste.

Cookies & Cream Ingredients

Calcium caseinate, whey protein concentrate, whey protein isolate, glycerol, maltitol, collagen, polydextrose, soy protein isolate, cocoa butter, milk powder, water, sunflower oil, unsweetened chocolate, natural and artificial flavors, soy lecithin, sucralose.

Not a huge difference here. Cookies & cream’s ingredients are the same as most milk-based barebells protein bars.

  • Protein = 20g
  • Carbs = 20g
